How long have you been in business?

Ed’s first opened in 1972

How did you get into the tire business?

I bought five locations of Ed’s Tire & Auto Service in 2004. I had a partner who was looking to invest in a company and I was looking for a job. After about two years into the partnership, I was able to buy him out, just before the banking industry imploded. I was from the software business and didn’t know much about the tire industry at the time. It didn’t take long for me to realize I loved it.

What services do you provide?

We provide all the basic auto services such as oil changes, tires, inspections, brake services, tune ups and most under-hood services except internal engine and exhaust service.

Do you specialize in anything particular?

We’re known for our competitive prices, quality services, and for being able to get our customers in out in a timely manner.

What amenities do you offer?

We provide free Wi-Fi, fresh food for purchase and clean restrooms.

Do you have any special equipment, certifications, awards, etc. that people should know about?

We’ve been voted Fayetteville’s Best for car service for the last 15 years in a row!

What’s your customer service philosophy?

It’s pretty simple: take care of the customer first and foremost and do what’s right. We also stress educating the customer by taking them out to their cars to show them what’s wrong.

What’s your favorite thing about working on cars?

I love helping people.

What’s one thing customers don’t know about maintaining their car?

The importance of regular maintenance.

What makes your business unique?

My staff and their experience. My average manager has been in the business for over 25 years and they all do an excellent job of communicating to our customers.

Can you tell us a story about a memorable customer experience?

Wow…where do I begin? We have always felt like a family business and treat our customers like they’re family as well. One of our managers recently lost his wife of over 40 years and we all knew he would face a difficult road. The outpouring of customer support was amazing. He had several customers a day stop by just to check on him or bring food and they weren’t even getting service done that day. It was truly touching and gave him the strength he needed to get through each day.

Is there anything else you want people to know about your shop?

I would like people to know that we’re a company that has been well respected in the community for over 46 years by doing the right thing and we look forward to next 46 years!
