New Avengers Movie Features First All-Electric Audi Concept Car

The next Avengers movie features the first all-electric Audi concept car. When Avengers: Endgame, the fourth installment, comes out April 2019, you’ll have the opportunity to see the Audi e-tron GT vehicle on screen. Spoiler alert: Tony Stark, played by Robert Downey Jr., may drive the electric car.

Audi’s spoiler

Audi has been accused of giving away a spoiler for Avengers: Endgame. The company had Robert Downey Jr. help introduce the new concept car before the 2018 L.A. Auto Show, and it created a YouTube video with the star. Since his character drove other Audi cars, fans assume he’ll survive in the fourth film and drive the newest model.

In the previous Avengers movie, Tony Stark was stranded in space, and the trailer for Avengers: Endgame shows him getting close to losing his oxygen supply. The information from Audi has convinced fans that Stark will survive and get to drive the Audi e-tron GT.

Audi also appears to have provided another spoiler with its “Marvel’s Avengers: Rocket’s Rescue Run” VR installation at the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The in-car experience was available for backseat passengers to test with VR glasses. In the simulation, the Audi e-tron GT became a ship and let passengers navigate an asteroid field in space.

A new electric car

In the new Avengers film, the all-electric Audi concept car may belong to Iron Man. Although you can’t purchase the Audi e-tron GT right now, the company claims it’ll be available in about two years in 2021. The 590-horsepower car includes a 90 kWh battery and a range of about 200 miles before it needs a charge. The concept vehicle also has four doors and all-wheel drive.

One of the key features of the Audi e-tron GT is its ability to charge faster than other electric vehicles. It can reach an 80% charge within 20 minutes. In addition, the concept car can go from 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds.

Audi explains the classic Gran Turismo was the inspiration for the Audi e-tron GT’s flat and wide appearance. The four-door coupé’s interior is made with sustainable materials, and the manufacturer shares that they’re all vegan because no animal-based products were used.

A glimpse of the future

You’ll have to wait two years to purchase the new all-electric Audi car, but concept vehicles usually give an accurate glimpse of what to expect in the future. Although the final product that consumers will purchase may be a little different, the Audi e-tron GT is a good example of what you can look forward to in 2021.

Audi uses its concept cars to showcase technology and new features that are in development. Trends continue to shift as consumers dictate what they want. All-electric cars are just the beginning. Audi is looking ahead to 2030 with predictions about how people will drive in the future. Autonomous cars are coming, and drivers may also control cars through eye tracking or gestures. You may also see health tracking features inside vehicles along with holograms and artificial intelligence. The Audi e-tron GT is the first step toward this future.
